hi radioman,

as P3conny already wrote, you have a two-door sedan with the 1.7l engine. if you quote this, the type of front brake (disc or drum) and the year of make to motomobil (or other spare part suppliers) they should define the right parts,.
if you need further help, just ask. we are glad to help every p3 diver wherever in the world.
but it would be a good idea and we would be happy if you maybe show some pictures of your car and write a short introduction, and i think your first name is for shure not "radioman" :-)

have a nice ride

Thanks Klaus
But on Motomobil they couldn't for sure tell me which drum I should have for the rear. I had to measure it up. I had the one that was least expected of the two types. But I got the right one at last. It took some time because there mechanics who fixed the new drum had broken his leg... twice!
It would have been easier to just use the information in the online cathalog and order the right spareparts from the "up to" or "after" chassisnumber they spec. there.

My first name is Ove. As the name Uwe in Germany :)
I promise I will put up pictures on my ... a bit "chabby chic" looking daily driver. :)
I also hope you don't mind I write in English. I had the choice in school to choose between some more languish then english and technic.. I choosed the latter. If I have choosen to learn the german languish I hadn't been able to write in this forum anyhow. Because I would then not be an owner of an old Taunus because I probably wouldn't have that technicals skills. ;)

Cheers // Ove

Hi Ove,
thanks for explaining! I really didn't know there are two different kinds of brake drums, but i looked it up at motomobil and saw the difference, which only seems to be in the shape/height of the wheel mounting area.
Funny explanation about your school choices :-) but anyway it makes sense. no problem to write in english here, as said before, much more effective than the google translator, which sometimes produces only a mess which is almost not understandable.
it seems that especially some of the P3s that were exported do not fit to the known FIN-scheme. strange, but little experience on that problem here...
regards
klaus KW
